Description

The flat is conveniently located just across the street from the Tower of London and next to the beautiful and historic Trinity Square Gardens. Just a minute''''s walk from the Tower Hill tube stop, and approximately three minutes from the Tower Gateway DLR, you''''ll find this flat the ideal London base from which to explore London!
Local Attractions: Many points of historic interest, including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Roman Wall(s). Also located in ''''The City'''' or financial district, so the area is considered very safe, even for walking around late at night. Due to the flat''''s proximity to the tube station (and being within Zone One and on the Circle and District Lines), you can hop on and quickly be near any major attraction in central London: Buckingham Palace, Churchill''''s War Rooms, Whitehall, Parliament, Big Ben, Kensington Palace. Just across the street, in addition to the Tower of London, is All Hallows by the Tower, a 1,500 year old church that has import for American as well as British history – William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, was baptized in the church as an infant, and John Quincy Adams, America’s 6th President and son of John Adams, America’s 2nd President, was married there in 1797.
There are many pubs and restaurants within a one or two minute walk. The Hung, Drawn and Quartered Pub is just across Great Tower Street next to All Hallows by the Tower (church). If that one doesn''''t appeal, there are three other British pubs, a French restaurant (Chez Gerard), a Spanish restaurant, an Asian noodle restaurant and a pizza/pasta place all within a lazy 1-2 minute walk. If you''''re willing to walk a bit further (5-10 minutes), you will find a seemingly endless supply of restaurants, including Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and many others. One not to miss is Dickens Inn (a former hanging ground for pirates) at St Katherine''''s Docks, London''''s best-kept secret! The docks also host a small marina and many quaint cafes, shops and restaurants of all price ranges.
If you choose to walk east about 10-15 minutes, you''''ll find yourself in London''''s East End, and perhaps at Petticoat Lane which is famous for its excellent Indian food! I highly recommend the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour of the East End, held at night and starting from the Tower Hill tube, just about a minute (if that) from the flat. Also nearby (meaning under 15 minute walk) is St Paul''''s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, The City (financial district), St Katherine''''s Dock, Shad Thames (riverwalk area with more restaurants and pubs), Sir Francis Drake''''s ship the Golden Hinde, and the HMS Belfast.
Shakespeare''''s Globe Theatre is a pleasant walk across Tower Bridge near Vinopolis, a wine museum with a lovely restaurant with wine tasting. (The theatre and restaurant are ideal for a unique dinner and show experience as part of a memorable and romantic weekend.)
There is a 4 night minimum stay required. The only exception is when 2-3 nights of availability remain between two longer reservations.

Rates
Low season: US$210/night and US$1,350/week, based on occupancy by 1-2 persons.
High season: US$270/night and US$1,750/week, based on occupancy by 1-2 persons.
For each person above 2 people, there will be a minimal additional charge of $20/night and $120/week.
Amenities

The flat is equipped with telephone, microwave, oven and hob (stove), fridge, freezer, washer and dryer, coffee maker, flat screen TV and DVD player with DVD library and digital TV receiver box, VHS player, small book library (about 40 books), wireless DSL, and video-phone entry system. Free phone calls from the flat to the US, Canada, Australia, NZ, and most of Europe.

Activities & Attractions

See above for partial description of sites and activities. This is central London, so any site in central London is easily reachable within a very few minutes via foot or tube. One activity not to miss is the Jack the Ripper walking tour that departs from Tower Hill Tube station (1 minute walk from the flat) each Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. It is organized by ''''London Walks'''', which does wonderful walking tours of various parts of London, each having a different theme, usually historical.
